How to create a SilentHosts account
Pseudonym signup (email optional), password setup, 2FA enrollment, and verifying you can log in to /client.
SilentHosts uses pseudonym-based signup with no KYC. The whole process takes about 60 seconds and requires only a pseudonym you choose plus a password. Email is optional — add one if you want password recovery and order receipts.
1. Open the signup page
Navigate to https://silenthosts.io/signup. You'll see a form with three fields: email, password, and a checkbox to accept the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and Privacy Policy.
2. Pick an email address
Any working email works. We recommend an address that won't ever be linked to your real identity if anonymity matters for your project — services like Simplelogin, AnonAddy, ProtonMail, or Tutanota generate aliases that don't tie back to a primary mailbox.
We never share your email with anyone. We do use it to send: account confirmation, password resets, billing receipts, and (only if you opt in) product updates.
3. Set a strong password
Minimum 8 characters; the password-strength indicator shows our scoring (length + character classes). We hash with bcrypt at 12 rounds — even if our database were stolen, your password would not be recoverable in any reasonable time.
4. Verify your email
After signup, check your inbox for a verification link. Click it to activate your account. The link expires in 24 hours; if you miss it, you can request a fresh one from the login page.
5. Optional: enable 2FA
We recommend turning on TOTP-based 2FA from /client/settings → Security. Use any authenticator app (Aegis, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden). 2FA protects your account from session hijacking and stolen-password attacks.
Once your account is active, head to /pricing to pick a plan or directly to /order if you already know which plan and location you want.
