Live-migrate when supported, snapshot-and-restore otherwise. Ten-minute typical operation.
If you initially deployed in Iceland and want to move to Switzerland (or any other 1-of-8 jurisdictions), the operation is straightforward. KVM live-migration is supported across our infrastructure where the source and target hardware are compatible.
Live migration — when available
From /client/services/{id} → Migrate → pick destination. If the source/destination compatibility allows it, live-migration runs: the VPS keeps running, memory transfers, then a sub-2-second handoff completes. IPs change to a fresh allocation in the new region. DNS update needed.
Snapshot-and-restore — fallback
If live-migration isn't available for your config, the panel automatically falls back: takes a snapshot, provisions a new VPS in the destination, restores the snapshot, gives you the new IPs. Customer-visible downtime is 5–15 minutes.
Cost
Migration itself is free; we don't charge for the operation. The new service is billed pro-rata from the day of migration; the old service is decommissioned immediately at no charge.
