Why pay with Dash
Dash distinguishes itself from other Bitcoin-derivative chains in two ways: InstantSend, which provides near-instant settlement guarantees through masternode quorums, and PrivateSend, an optional CoinJoin-style mixing protocol for transaction unlinkability. Both are protocol-level features that don't require trust in a third party.
We accept Dash through BTCPay's Dash integration with InstantSend enabled by default. A typical Dash payment confirms in about a minute via InstantSend lock — fast enough that we can credit invoices on InstantSend rather than waiting for block confirmations. Without InstantSend, Dash uses 2.5-minute blocks and requires standard confirmation thresholds (one confirmation for under $500, three for $500–5,000, six above).
Fees are minimal — typically a cent or two per transaction. PrivateSend mixing happens entirely on the wallet side; we don't see whether a sending wallet used PrivateSend before sending. For customers who care about privacy and prefer a Bitcoin-derivative chain to learning Monero, Dash with PrivateSend is a reasonable middle ground. For maximal privacy, Monero remains the better tool.
